PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Center for Jungian Studies of South Florida is a Not-For-Profit Organization that serves the wider community by presenting lectures, workshops, and discussions to address psychological, social and spiritual issues and provide a forum for personal reflection and growth inspired by C.G. Jung’s Analytical Psychology.

The initial goal was just to redesign the Center’s site, which had an outdated look with limited functionality. The average website visitors were older and were quick to say they were “afraid of the internet.” The website had to be approachable and easy to navigate for them, draw attention to membership and donation opportunities, and make it simple for visitors to find upcoming event information. The site was given a clean design that could adapt to any screen and was easy to read. Ecommerce capabilities were added to allow CJSSF to process memberships through their website online shop. Developing the “Get Involved” section of the site lead to an increase in memberships, donations, and volunteer participation.

To understand what staff and website visitors needed the site to do it was necessary to understand CJSSF’s entire workflow. By the end of the website redesign I become the most knowledgable of CJSSF’s workflow as a whole, piecing together each volunteer and board member’s part to get the full picture. This positioned me to be the best fit to become the main event coordinator and to lead event marketing initiatives. I have been able to streamline the event registration and management process, which opened up more time and resources for marketing.

CURRENTLY WORKING ON:
While a better website and streamlined workflow helped CJSSF stay strong during the last two seasons, hosting multiple large events a season continues to be more costly due to rising prices of renting a venue. I am currently building an online learning center for the CJSSF website that will allow visitors to pay to access workshops, lectures, presentations and receive continuing education credits online from their home computers. The Center also relies primarily on Eventbrite for event ticket sales and management. We are streamlining our event management process further by setting up the ability to manage events entirely on the CJSSF website so visitors never have to leave the site to register or get the information they need.

Email Newsletter Campaigns

The CJSSF event season runs from about September to May. Since 2014 we publish approximately three newsletters per event and one at the beginning of each season announcing the full list of events. In addition to those, there are appeals for donations and memberships, season pass sales, and special announcements.
